Youth Mobility Visa Uk

In the midst of a severe labour crisis in the UK, the Rishi Sunak government has approved a new youth mobility partnership scheme that would provide up to 3,000 visas to young professionals from India to live and work in the UK each year.

Sunak introduced the programme during the UK's focus on the Indo-Pacific region at the G20 Summit in Bali, where he also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was inked as part of the UK-India Migration and Mobility Partnership (MMP) last year and will now be publicly launched in early 2023.

What exactly is the new youth mobility partnership programme?

Up to 3000 young Indian professionals will receive visas each year under the new youth mobility cooperation scheme, allowing them to remain and work there for a maximum of two years. The reciprocal programme will also apply to British citizens who reside and work in India.

After it was signed, Downing Street said that India will be the first nation with a visa system to gain from it. The agreement is made as the nation struggles with a severe labour shortage.
